FADE IN:

INT. QUANTICO SHOOTING RANGE Ė DAY

QUANTICO, VIRGINIA
APRIL 1ST, FRIDAY

Monica Reyes stands very still, taking a sharp aim with her gun and steadily fires a whole round of bullets down at the shooting target. Behind her, Brad Follmer watches, making sure sheís strong enough to handle the training. After sheís done firing she sets her gun down on the table and takes off the hearing and eye protection, as does Brad. She turns to face him as the target comes forward.

BRAD
Not bad.

MONICA
Thanks.

Brad takes the target off itís hanger and looks at it. Sheís a pretty damn good shot for not firing in a while.

BRAD
Impressive, Monica.

Monica looks at it, her expression is a mixture of being happy she can still hit a target well, but with a little bit of insecurity with herself. Brad notices her mixed expression.

BRAD
What is it?

MONICA
Itís just... I donít know. (beat)
Should I really be proud to fire
my weapon at a human figure?

This catches Brad off guard. This whole time sheís been saying that she is just fine with coming back to the Bureau, and this is the first time sheís hesitant and doubting her decision.

BRAD
You donít think youíve made
the right choice? Is that what-

MONICA
-No. I want to come back to
the Bureau, but...

Well, maybe that is what sheís saying but sheíd rather not say it out loud. A Reyes canít back down from a decision, it shows weakness, and sheís had enough of being weak.

MONICA
Itís nothing, Brad. (beat)
Iíll be fine. (beat) Could
you set it up for another round?

Brad looks at her for a moment. She seems unsure of this, heís not sure itís what sheís really wanting to do. Especially after being back for a little over a month.

Monica looks into him, knowing what heís thinking.

MONICA
Brad, Iím fine. I want to
do this, but how can I get
better if you wonít reload it for me?

BRAD
All right.

He turns and goes to set it up for her. She puts back on her protective eye and ear wear, as does Brad. She starts to fire her weapon again. With each fire it frightens her that sheís able to do this. To have the ability after this whole time to fire a gun with this much precision scares her. Maybe she isnít making the right choice in her life, but itís too late to back down now, everyone will think she is a failure.

She finishes her second round and sets her gun down again. She slowly takes off her eye and ear protection as Brad brings the target forward again.

There was hesitation. Monica hears Brad think as he approaches her.

She turns around to face him as he takes the target to examine it closer.

MONICA
The last round was better.

BRAD
Yeah. (beat) This is still good though.

He smiles at her and notices sheís holding her wrist.

BRAD
Did you hurt yourself?

MONICA
No, itís just a little sore.

BRAD
Let me see it.

He carefully takes her hand to get a closer look at her wrist to make sure nothing is damaged.

Monica watches him as he carefully examines her wrist. She canít help but smile at him. He looks up at her.

BRAD
Youíre good.

MONICA
I know.

BRAD
Need a break?

MONICA
You read my mind.

He laughs knowing there is no way to read her mind the way she can read his.

MONICA
Well in a way you did, even
if itís not in the same way
I read your mind.

She smiles at him.

BRAD
I donít know about you, but
Iím starving. How Ďbout we
get out of here and grab
something to eat.

MONICA
Sounds good to me.

BRAD
Tonyís?

MONICA
Thatís the best pizza around.

CUT TO:

INT. MULDER & KRYCEKíS OFFICE - DAY

Mulder sits quietly at his desk with a pensive look on his face. He gave himself to the end of March to talk to Krycek about what has happened with his friends, and now itís the first of April. The last thing he wants to do is prolong the conversation heís been meaning to have with that boy. The sooner he gets his feelings out of the way, the better.

Krycek enters the office.

KRYCEK
Man, Iím so happy that itís Friday!
This week has been a living nightmare.

MULDER
A nightmare? What would you
know of a living nightmare?

KRYCEK
Plenty, Spooky. (beat) Remember
when Svetlana came to visit us
last year? (beat) Man! That was hell.

MULDER
Couldíve been worse, you know.

KRYCEK
True... but she just... ugh!
You know? She gets under my
skin and crawls.

Krycek plops down in his chair.

KRYCEK
Hey, you know what I did today?

MULDER
What?

Krycek lowers his voice and has a mischievous look on his face.

KRYCEK
I replaced the Janitorís P.B. and J.
sandwich with... something other than P.B. and J.

MULDER
Thatís not very ni-

KRYCEK
-Donít matter! Itís April Fools Day!

MULDER
Really? (beat) Hmm... I didnít notice.

Krycek eyes him. This must be part of the prank. Thereís no way in Hell Mulder could forget April Fools Day. Itís tradition for him to do a prank.

KRYCEK
(sly)
Sure... (beat) So itís Friday,
what are we doing for the weekend?

MULDER
I donít know. (beat) I was thinking
of staying in reading some more in
my new book I bought the other da-

KRYCEK
-Thatís so boring!

MULDER
(snaps)
Well, you donít have to do it then!

Krycek looks at Mulder as if heís gone crazy. Mulder has never snapped at him...

KRYCEK
Okay then... Geez, get a chill pill.

Mulder stands up and looks at him. Heís had enough of this boy.

MULDER
(mad)
You know... You... I...

Mulderís so angry at Krycek for so many things he doesnít even know where to start.

MULDER
(mad/worked up)
Iíve had enough of you!

With that, Mulder turns and leaves the office. At work is not the place to have his conversation with Krycek. Itíll have to wait until tonight if he can help it.

Krycek rolls his eyes as the office door shuts.

KRYCEK
(re: Mulder)
Drama queen...

CUT TO:

INT. TONYíS PIZZERIA Ė DAY

Doggett and Scully are sitting at a small table in the restaurant. A large cheese pizza is between them and they are both have raspberry lemonade for their drink.

SCULLY
You know, John, one of these
days Iím going to get you to
spice up your pizza. You know,
a little pepperoni, sausage,
pineapple, mushrooms...

Doggett laughs.

SCULLY
You laugh now, but Iím serious.

She winks at him. He smiles as his eyes wander to the window behind her. Scully takes a sip of her drink. Doggettís eyes bug. He sees Monica and Brad outside the restaurant talking. She and Dana havenít seen each other since Monica returned. Hell, heís hardly seen her. What if Monica has some kind of Reyes Revenge inside of her and sheís out to get Scully for what happened to her when she was at that facility.

Scully notices his nervous scratches on the back his neck.

SCULLY
(concerned)
What is it, John?

DOGGETT
(obviously lying)
Huh? Oh. Nothing.

Scully looks at him suspicious and turns to see where he was looking out the window. She sees Monica and her eyes bug.

SCULLY
Oh god. What if she hates me?!

She looks at John in a panic.

CUT TO:

EXT. TONYíS PIZZERIA Ė CONíT

Brad is about to open the door when Monica stops him.

MONICA
Wait.

He turns to face her.

BRAD
What?

MONICA
I did something.

He looks at her questioningly. She looks rather guilty.

BRAD
What did you do?

MONICA
Back at Quantico, I made you
think of coming here to Tonyís.

Brad is taken back. First she can read minds, now she can control them?

MONICA
Danaís in there, and I wanted to
finally see her, so I made you
think of coming here.

BRAD
(convinced)
How is that possible?

Monica leans in close to him and whispers.

MONICA
Itís not... but youíre very gullible.

She smiles up at him deviously. Brad relaxes and laughs.

MONICA
April Fools Day.

BRAD
You had me.

He smiles at her.

MONICA
I know. (beat) It was just
ironic that Iíve been wanting
to see her to see how Iíd react
since I donít know how Iíll react
and Iím a bit nervous about it. (beat)
But it was complete irony that you
thought of Tonyís on the day I had
a feeling she and John would be here.

BRAD
What are you nervous about?

MONICA
How Iíll react to seeing her. (beat)
A lot of bad things happened to me
and in a way sheís responsible for
that, but I know sheís not to blame
for it, but still. Iím really nervous.

Brad nods his head.

BRAD
Iíll be here, all right? (beat) If
at any time you feel uncomfortable,
you just let me know, okay?

Monica nods her head.

BRAD
All right. Letís go in.

He opens the door for her and she takes a deep breath as she enters. For some reason she canít see how everything will turn out, sheís found a way to block it, which surprises her. Maybe there is a way to block her psychic ability when she wants to... or, as in this case, when she doesnít want to. Right now, sheíd rather know how the conversation will end... if, in fact there is a conversation going to happen between them.

MONICA
(to Brad)
I hate being unsure.

BRAD
(reassuring)
Itíll be okay.

Monica looks in the direction of John and Danaís table.

MONICA
Okay, hereís what weíll do.
(beat) You get us a table and
Iíll go talk to them.

BRAD
Youíre-

MONICA
-Yes, Iím sure.

BRAD
All right.

He gives her a kiss on the cheek, even he can feel that sheís nervous, and heís not the psychic one.

With a deep breath, Monica takes her first step into the unknown. For some reason she canít foresee how this conversation will go. She has no idea how she will react to talking to Dana. She has no idea what sheíll say.

Monica reaches their table, and with the ďstage fright jittersĒ...

MONICA
Hi.

Okay, so far so good.

John and Dana look up at her. John watches her carefully. There better be no Reyes Revenge up your sleeve.

Monica looks at him, having heard his thought.

MONICA
(defensive)
This isnít Reyes Revenge.

Doggett looks up at her. How the hell...?

MONICA
How the hell what, Johnny?

Scully looks on in shock. She has got to be reading his thoughts. Scully smiles at John, Mr. Skeptical.

DOGGETT
(shock)
I didnít say anything...

MONICA
Oh...

She bites her lower lip. She did it again. Thought someone was saying something out loud when it was inside their head.

MONICA
(under breath/mad at herself)
Shit. (beat) Iím sorry.

SCULLY
(reassuring)
Itís okay, Monica.

Monica looks over at Scully. The moment of truth has arrived. Scully has spoken to her, what will she say now?

MONICA
(quick/nervous)
I wanted to come over and say
hi to you since I havenít seen
you since I got back a month ago.

Scully smiles at her. She can sense that Monica is nervous, which allows her to relax around her knowing that sheís not the only nervous one.

SCULLY
Well, hi. (beat) Iíve heard from
otherís that youíre doing very well.

MONICA
Yeah. (beat) I was at Quantico
not too long ago at the shooting range.

SCULLY
Really? (beat) How was that?

MONICA
It seems I havenít lost it.

SCULLY
(surprised)
Wow. Thatís good.

Scully smiles, glad to see that Monica is getting her life back in order.

Brad comes up to them.

BRAD
(to Monica)
They said we could sit anywhere.

MONICA
Oh. All right.

SCULLY
How about you guys grab
the table next to us and
we can catch up?

MONICA
Okay. Yeah. Thatíll be great.

Scully smiles. She too is relieved that Monica doesnít have ďReyes RevengeĒ out for her.

CUT TO:

INT. BRAD FOLLMERíS OUTER OFFICE Ė 1PM

Kim Cook is typing up a document at her desk while Brad is out. Skinner stands quietly in the doorway without her noticing. He lightly coughs to get her attention. She looks up at him and stops her typing.

KIM COOK
Yes, sir?

Skinner enters the office.

KIM COOK
Heís out for lunch if youíre
looking for-

SKINNER
-Actually, Iím not here to
speak with him.

Skinner is hesitant with his words. Kim lets out a sigh knowing that this is about him and her.

KIM COOK
Then what is this about, Assistant Director?

SKINNER
Do you have a break coming up?

KIM COOK
Iíve already been out for lunch.

Skinner nods. He doesnít want to take her away from her work. Sheís got a lot to do now that Brad Follmer is her boss.

SKINNER
What time do you get off?

KIM COOK
Why?

SKINNER
Iíd like to talk to you, thatís all.

KIM COOK
About what?

SKINNER
Weíre at work and I donít think
itís something we should talk
about while on the clock.

Kim looks at him and sighs.

KIM COOK
I get off at five, but Iíll
probably be out of here
by five-thirty.

SKINNER
All right. That works for me. (beat)
Could you meet me at the Starbucks
down the road about that time?

KIM COOK
Sure.

SKINNER
All right. Iíll let you get back
to work. (beat) Iíll see you then.

He gives her a small smile and walks out of the room. Kim watches him walk away for a moment wondering what he has to talk to her about.

CUT TO:

INT. MULDER & KRYCEKíS APARTMENT Ė 3:37PM

The door opens and Mulder and Krycek walk in. Krycek looks highly amused, and Mulder still has the conversation he wishes to have with Krycek on his mind.

KRYCEK
(laughing)
I canít believe someone called
in an April Fools Day ďbomb scareĒ
joke to the FBI.

MULDER
Itís not funny Krycek. (beat) All
threats are taken seriously and
right now, while weíve evacuated
the building, some terrorist threat
could be happening, and we wouldnít know.

KRYCEK
Weíve got other dudes on that. (beat)
But itís totally awesome that we
get to be home because of it.

Mulder lets out a frustrated sigh and tosses his jacket down on the kitchen table.

MULDER
Do you seriously have no
respect for anything, Krycek?

KRYCEK
What are you talking about?

MULDER
You disrespect women, Marita,
the government, me, your family...
The list goes on and on and on.

Krycek rolls his eyes.

MULDER
(dead serious)
Iím sick of it Alex.

KRYCEK
I donít care.

MULDER
Yeah, you seem not to care
about a lot of things. (beat)
Especially your friends.

Mulder emphasizes his last sentence. Krycek sits down at the kitchen table and looks up at him.

MULDER
Youíre selfish Krycek. (beat)
You allow some petty ego boosting
words to convince you to betray
your friends. Take away their lives.
Take away their loved oneís, and all
the while you think you have it bad.

KRYCEK
What are you talking about Mulder?

MULDER
Dana and Monica, and how that
smoking son-of-a-bitch boosted your ego.

Krycek stares at him deadpanned. He knew about that?

MULDER
(reading his expression)
Yeah, thatís right, buddy. (beat)
I know about a lot of things and
this is where I finally draw the
line. (beat) The next time you
ever think of betraying your friends
you better think twice about it.

KRYCEK
I did what I had to d-

MULDER
-Thatís bull shit, Alex!

Krycek shuts his mouth, heís never heard Mulder yell at him like that before.

MULDER
I knew this entire time. I knew
about Diana. I knew about you.

KRYCEK
Howíd you know?

MULDER
Wouldnít you like to know?

Mulder glares at him.

MULDER
You know... Iíve tolerated enough
of you, Krycek. (beat) Iíve had
enough of your disrespect for everyone.
It makes me sick every time I hear
you open your mouth. (beat) You think
I donít know about the things you do,
but I do. I know. I know everything, Krycek.

He glares at Krycek for a moment to make him feel uncomfortable.

MULDER
I know about how you took advantage
of Dana when we went to Colorado when
John kicked you two out of the van. (beat)
I mean, my god, Krycek. Sheís your friend.
You know the pain sheís been through in the
past. Youíve helped her in the past and yet
you still took advantage of her. Youíre
a sick little bastard. A true punk with no
respect for anyone but himself.

Krycek is speechless. How the hell does he know all of this?

MULDER
And donít think I donít know about
that little bet you had with Robert
Alfredo and how you twisted it around
to make up and excuse for why you sexually
violated Monica when she was upset in London.

Krycek stands in defense of himself.

KRYCEK
Whoa! I didnít do nothiní she
didnít want!

MULDER
You think I havenít heard
rapists say the same thing before?

Mulder glares right into Krycekís emerald green eyes with intensity.

MULDER
You knew she was upset about Brad and
Marita so you brought the Krycek family
vodka. The most potent vodka in the world
and had her drink two bottles. (beat)
What you did was not consented by her, you
disgusting little shit.

Mulder is furious. Heís lived with all of this inside of him for a long, long time.

MULDER
You thought I didnít know, did you?

KRYCEK
She never said ďnoĒ.

MULDER
Marita always says ďnoĒ to you.

Mulder glares.

MULDER
Have you done the same thing
to her too? Huh? (beat) You
just canít handle rejection
can you? (beat) How many times
has Marita said she didnít want
to be with you? Countless times.
(beat) And now youíre with her.
Is this against her will too? Are
you forcing her to be in a relationship?

KRYCEK
You donít know a damn thing youíre
talking about, Mulder. (beat) Ask
Marita. Iíve never pressured her
to do anything. Anything.

MULDER
You still take advantage of women.
(beat) Iím sure she doesnít appreciate that.

Mulder sits down at the table. Krycek looks down at him and glares, then sits down across from him. Heís never seen this side of Mulder before.

KRYCEK
(cocky)
Is that all, Mulder? (beat)
Or do you have more lies to
throw my way?

MULDER
You know Iím not telling lies.
(beat) Youíre probably wondering
what has caused all of this to
come out of me. Youíre probably
wondering why Iíve kept it all inside.

Krycek nods his head.

MULDER
I know the truth about you Krycek.
I know all of your lies. (beat) What
I donít get, is why you would hand
Dana over to the Smoking Man, over
to that place where she lived a year
of her life in hell. (beat) A living nightmare.

KRYCEK
I did what I had to do.

MULDER
Bull shit. (beat) Thatís just an excuse
you made up so you feel better about your
mistake. You allowed that man to use you
to get to Dana. (beat) How can you live
with yourself? (beat) I donít even know
why I live with you.

Mulder glares.

MULDER
(after a beat)
I pretended not to know because
I was living with the enemy.

Krycek looks into his eyes.

MULDER
I knew why Diana suddenly re-entered
my life. (beat) To be a distraction
for me so I wouldnít notice Scully
had gone missing. (beat) But I did
notice. I couldnít do anything about
it, and I dared not to either. (beat)
I was surrounded by the enemy. The enemies
who have lied to me, betrayed me, stabbed
me in the back a thousand times over,
and then repeated the motion. (beat) I
played along with your game to protect
them from whatever was going on. (beat)
I couldnít give it away that I knew. Who
knows what that black-lunged-son-of-a-bitch
would do to Dana or Monica. (beat) I hold
you responsible for everything that has
happened to them in the past year.

Mulderís glare pierces into Krycek.

MULDER
You, Alex Krycek, are to be blamed
for all of their loss, heartache,
and everything horrible that they
will have to face in their future.
(beat) I hold you responsible.

They sit in silence for a long time. Mulderís words hit Krycek hard. Heís never looked at everything heís done this way. He was always told that everything he did, he did because he had to.

Mulder stands up and looks at Krycek.

MULDER
I need to go for a walk.

He grabs his coat and walks out the door. Krycek stays seated. This is the last thing he ever expected from Mulder. Has he really been that horrible to everyone? He saved Scully, and yet Mulder fails to mention that. Because of him, the Smoking Man is dead and Scully was freed from that life of hell.

He sits in silence, listening to the sounds coming from the street. What the hell is Mulder up to? There is no way this is an April Fools Day joke. Not with this kind of conversation. Not with everything Mulder has thrown at him.

CUT TO:

EXT. STARBUCKS Ė 4:45PM

Walter Skinner paces nervously on the corner of the street, standing just out side the Starbucks he asked Kim to meet him at. Heís not one-hundred percent sure sheíll come, and he doesnít blame her if sheís a no-show. He deserves to be ditched and left standing alone on this sidewalk for being such a jerk to her.

He sips at his coffee. He probably shouldnít have had it since heís already jittery with nervousness, but itís too late now. He looks down the street and sees Kim walking towards the Starbucks.

Okay, Walter. Donít screw it up again.

He stands up straight to be prepared to talk to her. She approaches him.

KIM COOK
Well, what did you need to talk about?

Skinner momentarily freezes. He was expecting a little bit of beating around the bush, but Kim is very straight forward.

SKINNER
(almost frozen)
I um... (beat) I wanted to
apologize to you Kim.

Kim says nothing. Sheís heard this before, what makes this time any different?

SKINNER
I was a jerk to you.

Kim nods in agreement, and her posture tells him she doesnít want to be here that much longer.

SKINNER (CONíT)
Iím sorry. (beat) I never meant
to hurt you, and I know thatís
not an original thing to say,
but itís true. (beat) Youíre a
wonderful woman and you deserve
a man who can respect you. (beat)
Iím sorry that I couldnít be that
man for you, Kim. (beat) I just...
I didnít know what I wanted in my
life and I panicked and didnít think.

Kimís expression doesnít give him any answers to how she feels about this. Sheís simply listening to him to get it out of the way.

KIM COOK
Is this all you wanted to
say to me, Walter?

Skinner looks down slightly, and then back up at her.

SKINNER
Yes.

KIM COOK
Apology accepted.

She starts to walk off, obviously still bitter towards him. Skinner watches her walk away, wishing things wouldíve been better between them.

SKINNER
Kim?

She stops with her back towards him and after a moment, she turns around to face him.

SKINNER
I donít want to have us leave
on a bad note.

KIM COOK
I apologized.

SKINNER
Yes, I know. But youíre still
very mad at me.

KIM COOK
Do you blame me, Walter?

She comes towards him again.

KIM COOK
You propose marriage to me after
saying it was too soon to meet
my family. (beat) I donít think
you know what to do with your life.
(beat) I donít want that. I donít
need that. What more can I say?

SKINNER
Iím an asshole.

KIM COOK
Yes, you are Walter. (beat) You
made it seem like you just wanted
to marry me because you wanted me
as some kind of award, but didnít
want to get to know me or my family.
And then you propose to me with an
engagement ring that was for Dana.
(beat) What did you expect me to do?
Go along with being your ďDana ReplacementĒ?

SKINNER
No. (beat) I was confused at the time.
Men do stupid things-

KIM COOK
(bitter and sick of it)
-Donít I know it.

SKINNER
I fell in love with you Kim. (beat)
Yes, at one time I thought of you as
my ďDana ReplacementĒ, Iíll admit that
now because thatís not how I feel anymore.
(beat) Dana and I are over and will never
happen again. (beat) When I was with you,
I fell in love with you. You. Not Dana.
I just wish there was some way for you
to see that.

KIM COOK
Even if I did believe you, it still
wouldnít change what happened between us.

She looks in his eyes and a tear falls down her cheek. She hadnít even noticed she was crying.

KIM COOK
(wiping away tear)
Do you know what itís like to be
in a relationship and not have
love returned to you?

SKINNER
Yes, I do.

Kim doesnít continue, she wasnít expecting that to be his answer.

SKINNER
I was married once. A long time ago.

Kim listens, she didnít know this about him. She thought he only proposed to Dana Scully twice but never went all the way to saying ďI doĒ.

SKINNER (CONíT)
Her name was Sharon. We were married
over twenty years ago. (beat) At first it
was happy, then things changed.

KIM COOK
Your job got in the way?

SKINNER
In a way... I had an affair with
Dana Scully.

Kim sighs, not surprised.

SKINNER
I loved my wife, but I still had
this affair with Dana. (beat) Iím
not sure why I did it, I just did.
(beat) Maybe it was her seduction,
or maybe it was because I thought
my wife didnít love me anymore.

KIM COOK
And what made you think that?

SKINNER
Our marriage went from being
husband and wife to roommates.
(beat) My job did get in the way
and I didnít try to change it.
Weíd pay the bills, take the garbage
out, do the dishes, but never spent
time with one another. (beat) I felt
she was pushing me away and she felt
that I was doing the same. (beat) I
donít know if she loved me or not at the end.

KIM COOK
Probably not if she found
out about your affair.

SKINNER
She never found out.

KIM COOK
What does this have to do with us?

SKINNER
Miscommunication.

KIM COOK
Miscommunication? (beat) Walter,
you proposed to me with a recycled
engagement ring with ďTurtle! Eek!Ē
engraved on the inside. (beat) And
then told me it was a sex joke between
you and Dana Scully. (beat) And all the
while Iím hearing from everyone about how
much I resemble Dana Scully.

Walter looks down. Why the hell was he that stupid?

SKINNER
(true)
Iím sorry.

Kim looks at him and says nothing. She still loves him, but every time she looks at him her mind races about thinking how he saw her as a ďDana ReplacementĒ. She doesnít need a man to treat her as second best.

KIM COOK
I have to go, Walter.

She quickly turns away from him, not wanting to continue this conversation. Sheíd rather not get upset about this. The bomb scare was enough for one day. Skinner lets her leave this time, knowing how she feels and that sheíd rather not deal with it.

Theyíre over and thereís nothing he can do to win her back. He looks down and quietly walks down the street in the opposite direction of Kim.

CUT TO:

INT. MULDER & KRYCEKíS APARTMENT Ė 5:18PM

Krycek sits alone in the dim apartment. Mulder has not yet returned from his walk and Krycek, deep inside of himself, fears his return. What else will Mulder throw at him? What else will happen? Mulderís very unpredictable right now.

The apartment door quietly opens and quietly shuts. Krycek looks towards the door and sees that Mulder has returned.

Mulder quietly enters the living room and stands in the doorway, looking at Krycek with a blank, numb expression. Krycek waits, not knowing what will happen.

MULDER
(calm, serious)
Get out.

Krycek stares at him blankly and doesnít say a word.

MULDER
(after a beat)
I said get out. I donít want
to see you here ever again.

Krycek blinks in shock. Is Mulder kicking him out? Krycek stands.

KRYCEK
(unsure)
When can I come back?

MULDER
(dead serious)
Never.

Krycek looks at him. Is he serious? He must have given this some thought, he was gone for a while. This is not like when he ended Super Buddies.

MULDER
(after a beat)
You can come by tomorrow to
get your things, then I never
want to see you again. (beat)
Do you understand me?

Krycek quietly nods his head and puts on his leather jacket. He quietly leaves the apartment, at a loss with what to do.

INT. HALLWAY Ė CONíT

His past is catching up with him, and he deserves every bit that comes back at him. He knows this now. Krycek reaches the elevator and presses the button. As the elevator doors open, he looks back at apartment 42, and at the door that is now closed to him, never to be entered again. He gets into the elevator and the doors shut.

FADE OUT:

THE END.
